This course introduces students to the essential principles of disinfection, sterilization, and bacteriology within professional esthetics. Students learn how microorganisms, including bacteria, viruses, and fungi, affect skin health and how proper sanitation prevents cross-contamination and infection. This knowledge forms the foundation of safe, responsible, and professional practice.

Infection Control and Regulatory Compliance. A strong emphasis is placed on infection control procedures and state board regulations, ensuring students understand correct methods for cleaning tools, disinfecting surfaces, and maintaining sanitary treatment environments. Students develop the ability to follow industry-standard protocols, recognize risk factors, and apply procedures that protect both clients and practitioners.
